Summary: you can use the guide without creating an account. Route progress and sheet preferences are stored in your own browser. Hosting, analytics, advertising, and embedded service providers may process technical usage information as described below.
Information processed
Information you provide
If you email support or post a report in the linked community, the applicable email or community provider processes the message, account details you choose to share, and any attachments. Do not include passwords or sensitive account information in a route report.
Technical and usage information
Hosting and measurement services may receive information normally sent by a browser, including IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, event timestamps, and diagnostic data. Dragon Companion uses this information to deliver the site, understand aggregate usage, maintain security, and diagnose errors.
Local browser storage
The interactive map saves the current route step and playback speed under the browser storage keys savedStep and playSpeed. The route sheet saves the chosen column density under sheetDensity. These values remain on your device and allow the same browser to restore your position or preference. They are not game account data and are not synchronized between devices.
You can remove these values by using the map's Reset control, changing the sheet setting, or clearing site data in your browser. Private-browsing sessions may discard them automatically.
Analytics and performance services
The site uses Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics/Insights to understand page usage and technical performance. These services may use cookies or similar technologies and may process the technical information described above. Their processing is governed by their own policies.
Advertising and Google cookies
Dragon Companion uses or may use Google AdSense to display advertising on content pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Depending on your region, consent choices, and Google's settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. The site loads or links to services operated by other companies, including Google Fonts, Tailwind CSS, Ko-fi, Discord, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Vercel. Loading an embedded script or choosing an external link may allow that provider to receive technical request data. Once you leave Dragon Companion, the destination's privacy terms apply.
Retention, sharing, and security
Local route preferences remain until you or the browser removes them. Service providers retain analytics, logs, messages, or advertising information according to their configured retention periods and policies. Dragon Companion does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers needed to operate the site, comply with law, protect users or the site, or complete a business transfer.
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect the site, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security. Email should not be used to send passwords, payment card details, or other highly sensitive information.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Children and policy changes
The site is a general gaming reference and is not directed to children under the age required to consent to data processing in their country. Dragon Companion does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact support to request review and deletion.
